Presentation Creators

Powtoon helps you create videos and presentations with engaging and fun content, music, and voiceover. There is a paid version with extra features, but the free version does not disappoint. 

Prezi helps you take your presentations to the next level of engagement. Using motion and zoom along with unique graphics, you can truly customize each presentation. Prezi is a free tool, and presentations can be embedded into your Connect course pages.

Edit

Aviary is an online photo editing tool often used by web developers! It's totally free, and you can even download an app to your iPad or iPhone. It's easy to learn and provides all of the features you need for a simple photo edit without having to figure out Photoshop!

Create Videos

A free subscription to Screencast-O-Matic is provided for you through Lagrange College! With Screencast-O-Matic, you can record your lectures to embed in Connect, YouTube, or other video hosting sites. It provides screen capture, audio capture, and video capture, if desired. The Lewis Library Multimedia Classroom (317) comes readily equipped with this software, a microphone, and a webcam if you would like to make videos inside the library. For a lesson on how to use Screencast-O-Matic or to get directions on how to download it to your own computer, contact Jon Ernstberger (jernstberger@lagrange.edu) or Lindsey Lowry (llowry@lagrange.edu).

Office Mix is an add-on software that works directly with PowerPoint to help you createengaging and interactive videos. Great for teaching online classes, and it is free! Office Mix was recently featured in one of our BrownBag Lunch Series classes. For a refresher on how it works, contact Rebekah Ralph (rralph@lagrange.edu)

Collaborate is a Java based, online tool that allows you to connect with your students in real time. Access Collaborate though your course modules on Connect and web conferencing becomes easy. You can record your lectures, share your desktop with students, and upload files for presentation.

YouTube allows people all over the world to create, watch, and share billions of original videos. On YouTube, you can create your own channel and upload original content to share, or you can discover videos about topics in your field of interest.

Create Graphics

Canva allows you to create beautiful flyers, posters, social media content, and more with both free and low-cost elements. The platform is easy to use and an account is totally free. Beware, though, because creating content in Canva is addicting!

Piktochart lets you design infographics and posters quickly and easily. There are over 400 templates to choose from!

Collaborate with others

Google Drive is provided for you through LaGrange College TOTALLY FREE! It allows you to upload your files, share them with anyone, and can be used across multiple devices. You can also create presentations with Google Slides, documents with Google Docs, and spreadsheet with Google Sheets. The possibilities are endless!

 

 

Dropbox allows you to upload files, videos, documents, anything you like to the cloud! It works very similarly to Google Drive, but within a small size limit if you use the free version.Get to all your files from anywhere, on any device, and share them with anyone.

Gamify

Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform, and it's free! Create your own Kahoot! or choose from publicly shared games.
