  • All music books or books realted to music are located on the top (3rd) floorof Lewis Library.
  • When searching for books in the Stacks, look for call numbers beginning with the letter M.
  • When searching for books in Reference, look for call numbers beginning with REF M.

  • ML1 - ML3930 = Literature on Music (including composer biographies, music history, & more)
  • MT1 - MT960 = Music Instruction & Study (including music theory, instrument techniques, & more)

Resources for Re-mixing, Sampling, and Other Creative Compositions

Music students who are actively composing may be interested in the below guide about copyright. The guide includes many features that are helpful in both educating students about Copyright, Fair Use, Creative Commons and the Public Domain, as well as assisting students in finding media (such as music, video and more) to use and re-use as part of your creative compositions.  In the Copyright guide, you will find:
