REFERENCE (Print)

AUTHOR OF THIS LIBGUIDE

This LibGuide was authored by Loren L. Pinkerman, Director of the Banks & Lewis Libraries from 1998-2014.

Electronic Reference Sources

Use the following list of recommended electronic reference sources for accessing electronic reference information related to Political Science topics.

Starting your Research:

When starting your research, it is best to start broad so you can discover potential topics. Here GALILEO will be your go-to as it has a little bit of everything.

Reference Ready:

Found a topic, but don't know much about it yet? This is where the library's reference collection will come in. Finding ebooks on general topics will assist in helping form your thesis statement. Here you may find encyclopedias, atlas, dictionaries, handbooks, and sourcebooks/bibliographies.

Database Researching

Specific databases are going to narrow down your search results, so instead of having everything you're going to start seeing more sources specific to your topic matter.

Finding Journals:

Individual journals are where you start seeing experts come in, who focus specifically on this area of the field.
