Quick Fact about Technology in the Library

For your reservation, remember that prior technology training is mandatory.

Click the HOME tab and fill out the reservation form in order to reserve a room for a class or upcoming event. Indicate on the form what kind of technology you might expect to use for your reservation.

Laptops

Lewis Library has 40 laptops available for reservations.

They can be set up prior to your reservation in either the Auditorium, Multi Media Classroom, Seminar Room, or Hines Conference room. Each laptop has internet access, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Firefox. Additionaly, eight of these laptops are avaiable for circulation for staff and students.

Laptops have been used for testing, National History Day, Workshops, courses, training sessions, and more.

When you requests laptops for your reservation, make sure to indicate how many laptops you will need!

MULTIMEDIA CLASSROOM

Our Multi-Media Classroom (room 317) has:

  • 12 rolling tables to customize layout
  • 24 rolling chairs
  • SMART board interactive whiteboard
  • Standard whiteboard

The lectern includes:

  • Computer with internet access with connection to the SMART board
  • ELMO digital overhead projector

Computer Software includes:

  • SMART Notebook and SMART Ink
  • Skype
  • Google Chrome, Firefox, IE
  • SMART recorder for recording lectures with screen capture
  • Tegrity Lecture Capture

We have 3 rooms that are fully equipped to suit your needs and many portable technologies to supplement your class, meeting, or event. See summaries of what is already available in our classroom, auditorium, and media lounge as well as what other technology we offer for in-library use.

Portable Technologies

Lewis Library has a wealth of portable technologies that can be used in any room inside the library, including:

  • High definition table-top projector with projector screen
  • DVD/Blu-Ray player
  • External speakers
  • Camcorder with tri-pod
  • Roll-around projector
  • SMART clickers for interactive polling (can be used in the MM classroom, auditorium, or with the portable SMART board)
  • Polycom unit for video conferencing (see box below for more info)
  • Portable SMART board (see the box in the right-hand column)
  • 40 laptop computers with internet access (see the box in the left-hand column)

AUDITORIUM

                                                     

The Corn Auditorium includes:

  • Space for 49 students or guests
  • Electrical connections for laptops or other technology
  • Wireless microphone upon request

The auditorium lectern includes:

  • Hi-definition projector
  • Surround sound
  • Computer with internet access
  • Sympodium interactive monitor
  • Built-in microphone
  • ELMO digital overhead projector
  • DVD/Blu-Ray player
  • Touch panel controls
  • Auxiliary laptop connection

Computer Software includes:

  • SMART Notebook and SMART Ink
  • Google Chrome, Firefox, and IE
  • Skype
  • Tegrity Lecture Capture

Seminar Room and Hines Conference Room

The Seminar room (room 304) seats 10 and is located on the 3rd floor. 

The Hines Conference room (located on the 2nd floor) seats 5.

Neither of these rooms come equipped with SMART boards or surround sound (sorry!) but check out our list of Portable technologies that can be requested and used in conjuction with these two rooms!

Portable SMART Board

Our Portable SMART board can be used in any room within the library, including the Seminar Room, Hines Conference room, and Media lounge. It works just like the SMART Interactive White Board that we have in our Multimedia classroom, but it's on wheels!

If you would like to use the Portable SMART board, please select the checkbox for SMART board (interactive white board) on the online Reservations form, located under the HOME tab or contact Felecia T. Moore (fmoore@lagrange.edu).

MEDIA LOUNGE

The 3rd floor Media Lounge has:

  • Additional soundproofing
  • DVD/Blu-Ray player
  • 47" Flat Screen LG TV
  • 5 lounge chairs
