International Bibliography of Theater & Dance with Full Text (IBTD) This link opens in a new window
The best database for theatre journals. Provides PDF full text for journals such as Studies in Musical Theatre, The Sondheim Review, American Theatre, and Dance Magazine.
News and Newspapers This link opens in a new window
Full text for many newspapers, including the New York Times from July 1980 to the present. Excellent source for theatre reviews, and provides many interviews with performers, choreographers, composers, lyricists, and librettists. See the reference librarian for tips on searching this database (e.g., enclose phrases in quotation marks).
JSTOR This link opens in a new window
Provides full text for several performance arts and music journals, including Musical Quarterly, Theatre Journal, and Dance Chronicle.
Reader's Guide Retrospective Index This link opens in a new window
Provides citations for magazines from 1890 to 1982, including Life, Time, and others that featured articles on musical theatre and interviews with performers. Most citations don't include full text, but we have bound periodicals for Life, Time, and many other magazines indexed in this database.
