Colonial Latin American History: Reference Sources

A library resource guide designed specifically for students taking the Colonial Latin American History course at LaGrange College.

Electronic Reference Sources

CREDO can be accessed directly from the library’s Home Page or through GALILEO. A test search for “colonial Latin America” (note use of quotes) in all subjects yielded 155 results whereas by limiting the search to only History sources the results totaled 20.

CREDO includes Iberia and the Americas : culture, politics, and history; Concise Atlas of World History; Companion to Hispanic Studies; and The Companion to Latin American Studies as well as other sources that may prove valuable in identifying a topic of interest or in identifying terms, people, places, and events associated with a topic.

It is recommended that you use the print reference sources for background information on a topic and then go to CREDO for images, maps, videos, etc.
